Enterprise Dev/Test Platform Standardization

PayPal’s Development and Test infrastructure supports a globally dispersed team of over 2500 software developers.  Prior to this project, the PayPal Development and Test systems were “a hodgepodge” of machines and software. Several major challenges existed including siloed, incompatible development efforts; support difficulties across multiple systems; failing machines; and other constraints. Cloud Services Platform Development and Administration

Previous management selected a large national staffing firm as the onsite Managed Services Provider (MSP) and single source staffing provider for the entire division. After the HP Palm acquisition, the new VP of WebOS Cloud Services quickly realized both the Product Development and Operations teams were not getting the service they needed; the recruiters serving them didn’t understand their requirements, and provided subpar customer service. He and his management team were also concerned about qualified candidate flow, a low sense of urgency by the MSP personnel, and that the MSP just didn’t “get it” when it comes to getting the job done for them.

Mobile Applications Development and Testing

Java Based Billing Systems Integration

As a result of tremendous growth and multiple acquisitions, eBay was challenged with the need to streamline and integrate 6 disparate billing systems into a singular global billing system serving over 100 million customers. In turn, eBay needed to quickly assemble a team of Java systems architects, designers and software developers to implement this mission-critical billing system. The project requirements included re-engineering a significant messaging component of the system that encompassed e-mail transmissions, bills, confirmations, charge to credit card messages and more.

Web Services Gateway Deployment

The Application Foundation Solutions (AFS) team, responsible for architecting, designing, implementing and supporting a new enterprise wide Web Services platform. Their goal was to create a common web services management gateway as part of the SOA initiative at Cisco. They needed a solution for the web services development teams to use and with capabilities including monitoring, management, centralized policy administration, and policy enforcement.
